Birley Campus is Manchester Metropolitan’s world-class centre for Education and Health Professionals and is the university’s flagship community campus. Opened in October 2014, Birley is an award-winning development featuring a state of the art learning and teaching environment, 967 student homes, community facilities, and accessible public space that enhances biodiversity and supports community engagement and participation.
Find out about Manchester Met’s approach towards developing a sustainable campus, and how the university currently utilise its estate for impactful community outreach. The visit consists of an external tour of the campus and summarise how environmental sustainability has been integrated into many aspects of the building design, technology and public realm areas at Birley Campus.
